Who Am I ?

Eva, born in 1990, I grew up in France and lived in La Rochelle, Saintes, Limoges and Toulouse before leaving for a round the world trip for a year. 3 and a half years later I am still at the end of the world in New-Zealand and have plenty of stories to tell.

Qui suis-je ?

Eva, née en 1990, j’ai grandi en France et vécu consécutivement à La Rochelle, Saintes, Limoges puis Toulouse avant de partir à l’aventure pour un tour du monde d’un an. 3 ans et demi plus tard, je suis toujours au bout du monde en Nouvelle-Zélande et commence à avoir pleins d’histoires à raconter!

why a blog in english and french ?

Those are the two languages I speak, and I wish that most of my friends and new visitors can read my blog. Sometimes I write my articles in English and translate them in French, sometimes the opposite. I have a pretty different style depending on the base language. I’m doing my best for the translations but English is not my mother tongue and I don’t speak French everydays. I may sound funny sometimes, I hope you understand.

pourquoi un blog en français et anglais?

Ce sont deux langues que je maitrise et je souhaite que la majorité de mes amis ou curieux puissent lire mon blog. Parfois j’écris mes articles en anglais puis les traduit en Français, parfois l’inverse, j’ai un style assez différent en fonction de la langue de départ. Je fais au mieux pour les traductions mais l’anglais n’est pas ma langue natale et je ne parle pas francais tous les jours. Il se peut que certaines phrases sonnent faux, j’espère que vous comprenez 😉

When did the blog adventure begin?

I have always loved writing. I normally just took the time to do it while travelling. I have a beautiful handwritten travel notebooks collection 😉

2 years ago I thought about writing a blog but was not ready to show it to the world, I just felt the urge to write about my thoughts!

I needed at least a covid lockdown to jump start that project, New-Zealand being in alert 4 at the moment, I finally created my first website in august 2021!

quand est-ce que l'aventure blog a débuté ?

J’ai toujours aimé écrire. Mais normalement je n’en prenais le temps que pendant mes voyages. J’ai d’ailleurs une magnifique collection de carnets de voyages écrits à la main 🙂

Il y a 2 ans j’ai pensé à écrire un blog mais je n’étais pas prête à le montrer au monde, j’avais juste un besoin urgent d’écrire mes pensées!

J’avais besoin d’un bon confinement pour lancer ce projet, la nouvelle Zélande étant actuellement en niveau 4 d’alerte, j’ai créé mon premier site en août 2021!

Why are some posts very old?

Even though I created the blog at the end of august 2021, there are some posts dated of 2019 because I did write them back then, I have created the blog originally to share those, unfortunately it took quite long to do it. More detail in that post.

I have decided not to modify them because I like comparing the way I was thinking back then to the way I am thinking now. I will write more recent posts and keep publishing the old ones as soon as I am done with their translations.

Pourquoi y a-t’il des vieux articles ?

Même si j’ai créé le blog fin août 2021, il y a des articles de 2019 car c’est la date où je les ai écrits. Mon projet de créer un blog est venu à ce moment-là, mais ça m’a pris du temps de le concrétiser. Plus de détails dans cet article.

J’ai décidé de ne pas les modifier car j’aime comparer la manière dont je pensais à l’époque et mon mode de pensée présent. Je vais écrire des articles plus récents et continuer à publier les anciens au fur et à mesure que je termine de les traduire

Why the name Eva-HUT?

I wanted a simple name, with a trace of NZ. This blog is my safe space, where I can stay alone or invite guests to share my stories, this is my hut. Click here if you want to know more about huts in NZ.

Pourquoi le nom EVA-hut ?

.Je voulais un nom simple, avec un trait de Nouvelle Zélande. Ce blog est mon lieu sur, où je peux rester seule ou avoir des invités pour partager mes histoires, c’est ma cabane, ma hut. Cliquez ici si vous voulez en savoir plus sur les Huts en NZ.
